Department Overview
With advanced facilities featuring state-of-the-art equipment, the Department of Dentistry focuses on the prevention of disease and treatment of oral cavity damage. Basic oral examinations and evaluations are performed using low-dose digital radiography, as indicated. The department primarily deals with the dental treatments, dental surgeries and cosmetic dentistry.

- The aim of Dental education for MBBS undergraduates is to develop a primary care physician with appropriate knowledge, skill and attitude to treat and diagnose common diseases of the oral cavity at the primary care level.
Mission
- It is our mission to exceed expectations by providing exceptional dental care to our patients while fostering an environment of trust. We aim to provide dedicated patient care that inspires confidence in receiving the best possible care in our dentistry department.
- While training MBBS undergraduates, emphasis will be placed on the Anatomy of Dentition, orofacial structures, and the diagnosis of oral lesions and conditions. Along with the Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of common dental problems, followed by proper referral to specialist dental surgeons.

Experience
Dr Tulsi Subramaniam completed her graduation in dental surgery and a Master's in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthetic Dentistry from Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai University in 1996. Following her graduation, Dr Tulsi has been a teacher, Professor, and postgraduate guide at D. Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pimpri, Pune. She has over 15 years of teaching experience, after MDS in Dental College and Medical Colleges, of which 6 years were spent in the capacity of Professor and Postgraduate guide in Prosthodontics.
Dr Tulsi has also been in private practice for over 25 years. She has also completed certified courses in Dental Implantology, Esthetics, and Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as Rotary Endodontics, which have further enhanced her credentials. Her special area of interest is the replacement of teeth with crowns and bridges as well as personalised dentures.
Academic Achievements:
Dr Tulsi has an impeccable academic record as a student, having topped the University of Mumbai in subjects ranging from Dental Materials to Prosthetic Dentistry. She has chaired numerous scientific meetings and forums, conducted many CDEs, and has authored more than 35 national and international publications.
