The department of Otorhinolaryngology is one of the most well-equipped department situated on the 5th floor of building 3 of Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Lavale. Our speciality involves medical and surgical management of patients. Thus, we promote our students to inculcate the basic concepts related to E.N.T. healthcare.

Experience
He has over 35 years of working experience in academics, teaching, research and hospital administration. He has PG teaching experience in the field of Otorhinolaryngology of 15 Years. He has worked as Commandant & Director of Base Hospital, Lucknow for 2 years. He has worked as Director with 4 static Military Hospitals and 7 Field Hospitals in Punjab & Haryana region under his administration for 2 years.He has trained post graduate students for National Board Examinations since 2003 and has also been an examiner in ENT and assessor for accreditation of centers for National Board programs.
Awards & Achievements
- He was Professor & HOD ENT, AFMC, Pune from June 2010 to Oct 2015. He was Professor & HOD ENT at Command Hospital (EC), Kolkata from Nov 2015 to June 2018. He was Professor ENT at Command Hospital (CC), Lucknow from June 2018 to Jun2020. He is an examiner for MS (ENT) Examinations for Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik & Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru. He has been an examiner for the National Board of Examinations(NBE) for the past 12 years. He was Chief of the Cochlear Implant Program at AFMC, Pune. He started the Anterior and Lateral Skull Base Surgery Program at AFMC, Pune. He was a part of the Head–Neck Oncology Unit at the Malignant Diseases Treatment Centre (MDTC), started the Cochlear Implant Program with an in-house Bionic Ear Centre, ‘Dhwani’, Skull Base Surgery Division at Command Hospital (EC), Kolkata.‘Balloon Sinuplasty Live Surgical Workshop’ in October 2012. ‘Current Trends and Recent Advances in ENT and Live Surgical Workshop 2013’ on 05-06 October 2013.National conference on Laser Surgery ‘LASENT FORCE 2014’ in November 2014. Temporal Bone Cadaveric dissection workshops of 2014 & 2015 at AFMC, Pune. Head & Neck Cadaveric dissection workshop of 2015 at AFMC, Pune. He was invited as a Faculty at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune for the following: Annual Temporal Bone dissection courses from 2010 to 2015.Annual Head & Neck dissection courses from 2010 to 2015.

Infrastructure Facilities
- The department of ENT is spacious, well-lit and well-ventilated, complying with the requirements of the NMC.
- The department has a library cum seminar room which is well-equipped with the recent editions of textbooks, reference books and journals for undergraduates as well as for the teaching faculty for research purposes.
- The ENT OPD is a well-ventilated area on the lower ground floor of building 2 consisting of 3 examination rooms, 1 minor procedures room, audiometry room, speech therapy room, waiting area and a demonstration room for students.
- The IPD for patients admitted under the department of ENT consists of separate wards for male and female patients each including a demonstration room for students, a nursing station, a doctor’s duty room along with a pantry and linen room.
- The ENT operation theatre is well-equipped with an advanced microscope for major ENT surgeries. All ENT instruments in the operation theatre are according to the requirements of the NMC.

Outpatient and Inpatient Services
The ENT Outpatient Department (OPD) is strategically situated on the lower ground floor of Building 2, featuring three examination rooms, a minor procedures room, and specialized areas for audiometry and speech therapy. This setup facilitates an efficient flow and privacy for patient consultations and treatments.
The Inpatient Department (IPD) caters to the needs of our patients requiring hospitalization with separate wards for male and female patients, each equipped with a demonstration room for students, a nursing station, doctor’s duty room, pantry, and linen room, ensuring comprehensive patient care and student training.
Advanced Surgical Facilities
Our operation theatre is at the cutting edge of medical technology, outfitted with advanced microscopes and the necessary tools for major ENT surgeries, conforming to the norms set by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
