OSPE/OSCE Designing Workshop

Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) and Symbiosis University Hospital and Regional Centre (SUHRC) organized a half day OSPE/OSCE designing workshop for the faculty of SMCW on 26th April 2021. The unique feature of this workshop was that it was conducted on virtual mode on Zoom platform. The workshop was attended by 86 in-house participants.
The workshop began with the keynote address by Dean SMCW Lt. Col. T. Vijaya Sagar. The workshop objectives were delivered by Dr. Suchitra Palve, Coordinator MEU. The process and steps for designing OSPE was explained by Dr. Mandar Ambike, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy. The steps and process for designing OSCE were explained by Dr. Jui Geet, Professor & Head, Department of Anesthesiology.
The participants were divided as Phase I, II, III, and were assigned to different breakout rooms for hands-on experience. The participants in the breakout rooms discussed the OSPE and OSCE topics based on the competencies they selected, along with the process and steps to design them. Each breakout room was assigned one facilitator to accelerate the process.
This breakout session was followed by the session on different ways to conduct online OSPE/OSCE sessions by Dr. Suchitra Palve, Professor, Department of Physiology, Coordinator MEU. The road ahead was guided by Col. Hitendra Singh Batra, Deputy Dean, Professor & Head, Department of Biochemistry, SMCW. The workshop was concluded with valedictory remarks by the Coordinator MEU. Pre-evaluation and post-evaluation feedback regarding the workshop was recorded through Google Forms.
The entire workshop was meticulously planned and the sessions were made more interesting by providing hands-on training and planned activities, which ensured active learner participation.

SMCW hereby clarifies that the advertisement currently being circulated is not issued, authorized, endorsed, or approved by SMCW or Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
SMCW does not authorize any individual, agent, consultant, or external agency to guarantee, facilitate, or secure admissions on its behalf.
Admissions to SMCW are conducted strictly in accordance with the regulations and guidelines prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC), MCC, and the competent regulatory authorities.
All admission-related information, notifications, fee structures, and counseling procedures are communicated only through the official channels of SMCW and Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
Students, parents, and stakeholders are advised to:
