On Occasion of ‘World Sight day ‘, a small activity was conducted for awareness and counselling regarding common eye conditions in Ophthalmology OPD of Symbiosis Medical College for Women, where the students were made to address and counsel patient regarding the ophthalmic conditions faced by patients in day to day life.
Awareness for conditions like Dry eye syndrome, Cataract, Glaucoma, Squint were given.
Separate information booths for Cataract, Glaucoma, Dry eye Syndrome were arranged. Every patient could choose any booth which would solve their queries in the language best understood by them.
Students had a one-on-one interaction with the patients.
This not only helped the patients but also gave an opportunity to the budding doctors to understand their patients and find a way to understand their conditions and gain a prospective on diagnosis and treatment.
