Vision & Mission


The Department of Anaesthesiology is situated on the 3rd floor of the Symbiosis Medical College Hospital building at the Lavale Hill-base Campus. The department contributes actively in the fields of patient care, education and research. The department is well equipped to train the undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of anaesthesia, critical care and pain services.

Mission
  • To provide up-to-date clinical anesthesia services based on the latest research and knowledge. To promote preeminent perioperative patient care, acute pain services and critical care through continued education, research and, innovation.

Infrastructure facilities


The infrastructure includes the Department along with the Operation Theatre complex.

The department has a library with standard books for anaesthesiology and critical care and journals for higher studies and research. Facility for LCD projector and demonstration room for skill training with mannequins is available.

A state of art Operation Theatre Complex includes a preanaesthetic assessment room, preoperative room, operation theatres and postoperative room. It is well equipped with latest technology anaesthesia workstations, airway management equipment, regional anaesthesia aids, resuscitation equipment inclusive of defibrillator and crash-cart.

Services


Providing anaesthetic care for all surgical specialities including paediatric surgery, neurosurgery, major oncology procedures, urology, gynaecology, joint replacement, bariatric procedures, plastic and reconstructive surgeries, and airway procedures.

Providing acute pain management services including labour analgesia, helping in faster recovery, better patient experience and reduced morbidity.

Providing anaesthesia in remote locations for endoscopy, CT, MRI, RT, ECT, lithotripsy.

Care of critically ill surgical patients in a dedicated ICU set up in an environment of advanced scientific with interdisciplinary approach.
