Vision & Mission


Dermatology, Venereology And Leprosy is a clinical subject taught during Final year of M.B.B.S course. The Department is situated on the 4th floor of Building no 3 & Dermatology, Venereology And Leprosy OPD is situated on the Lower Ground Floor of Building no 2 of Symbiosis Medical College for Women at the Lavale Hill-base Campus.

The Department is committed to train medical students and impart them knowledge and skills about evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients with skin, hair, nails and venereological diseases.

HOD Profile



Name:- Dr. Neeta Gokhale (HOD)
   M.B.B.S, MD (Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy) from Pune University
  Won the Gokhale award for topping the MD exam in the University.

Experience:

She is having 33 years teaching experience for Undergraduate, Postgraduate teaching in Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy.

  • 1) Sassoon General Hospital and BJ Medical College as Assistant Professor & Associate Professor from 1990 to 2006
  • 2) Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and Hospital in Pune as Associate Professor & Professor from 2007 to 2018
  • 3) D.Y. Patil Medical College & Hospital as Professor from 2018 to 2019
  • 4) Mimer medical college as Professor from 2021 to 2023
  • Experienced in the area of HIV in screening, counseling and examination of patients with HIV; Collaborated with NARI (National AIDS Research Institute) which works in collaboration with the John Hopkins Institute, USA Establishes cutaneous surgery center at medical colleges; She is Experienced in conducting and teaching various cutaneous surgical procedures like cryosurgery, chemical peels, Radio Frequency, Vitiligo Surgery (like punch grafting and suction blister), acne scar surgery, Lasers and Nail Surgery Established dermatology department, started all dermatology procedures such as peels for skin aging and improving skin tone, radio frequency for warts, acne surgery such as subcision, dermaroller, vitiligo surgery such as punch grafting and skin grafting, pinch grafting for non-healing ulcers, laser surgery (CO2 and IPL lasers)
