“Organ Donation Day”

On the Occasion of World Organ Donation Day and in tune with COVID Scenario & Digital India Program, a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Internet Platform with all standard precautionary measures had been organised by the Department of Anatomy, Critical Care, Ophthalmology and Dermatology on 20th August 2020 at Symbiosis Medical College for Women, SIU, Pune.

A welcome address and the opening remarks were delivered by Dean (I/C) Dr. Vaishaly K. Bharambe Professor & Head – Department of Anatomy, SMCW - Symbiosis International (Deemed) University.

In midst of on-going healthcare given to COVID patients at the Designated Nodal Centre, an academic awareness attempt was thoroughly made. This Organ Donation FDP explained the importance urging people to come forth and generously donate organs to help the noble cause of saving precious lives

Lastly the procedure for registration for organ donation and appeal to pledge for donating organs was made, thereby saving thousands of lives.

The deliberations were followed by Question & Answer at the end of session. The FDP was graced by Dr. Vijay Natarajan, CEO SUHRC and Dr. Mohan Jadhav, Medical Superintendent. The FDP was attended by HODs, Faculty of various departments - SMCW & SUHRC. A total of around 81 delegates attended the FDP.
