Name:-Dr. Rajesh Karekar
Qualifications:-MBBS, MD, PGDGM diploma in geriatrics

Dr. Rajesh Karekar has obtained his MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Miraj, Maharashtra. he has obtained his MD General Medicine degree from the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad. Presently he is serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine at Symbiosis Medical College for Women at Pune.

Experience:

He has over 15 years of experience in academics, teaching, research activities, healthcare services.

Achievements:-

He has served as an examiner in several universities for both Undergraduate and Post Graduate Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and other allied branches. He has guided several post graduate students in their research work.

His field of interests are cardiology, neurology, critical care, 2D echo cardiography and Doppler studies metabolic disorders, obesity etc.

He is heading various committees like clinical audit, NAAC, NABH etc.

Paper publications:-

He has presented various research papers in national and international journals.

He Presented Research Paper in Conference held at Dubai in 2019 Organized by American College of Cardiology.

Outreach activities:-

Health camps conducted by SMCW in the field of cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders.

Infrastructure facilities


1. OPD Complex:

It includes Computerized reception desk, patient seating area with LED screen, 4 patient examination rooms, X-ray viewing box and HMIS facility. Fully equipped dressing rooms one each for males and females. Clinical demonstration room with seating arrangement for 25 students, whiteboard and examination bed.

2. Inpatient Department:

2 spacious and well ventilated wards for male medical patients with bed strength of 24 each and 1 ward for female medical patients with bed strength of 24 with attached examination and procedure rooms for each ward with patient examination bed and dressing trolley.

  • Attached clinical demonstration room and duty doctor room for each ward
  • 2 nursing desks with computerized HMIS
  • Procedure cum Injection Room 1 Attached pantry

3. Casualty:

  • Holding area for patients with oxygen beds
