Department Overview

Psychiatry is the branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental, emotional and behavioural disorders. Department of Psychiatry consists of a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric social workers and clinical psychologist.

Department

Professor room, Associate Professor room, Assistant Professor room, Departmental Library, Department Office.

  • The Department of Psychiatry is spacious with adequate rooms available for all faculties. Each room is well furnished along with a desktop and internet facility.
OPD

Outpatient area is a spacious, isolated area built taking into consideration least surrounding disturbance required in treating patients with various psychological issues. Here, you will find informative posters and a TV displayed to educate the general population regarding various psychiatric disorders. In addition, Electroencephalograph (EEG), Biofeedback and Psychometric testing are some of the facilities available along with consultation of patients in the OPD.

Ward

Separate male and female wards, total 8 beds, nursing station, doctors room, clinic room, pantry room and separate male and female toilets.

Library

The departmental library is well lit, calm and quiet place to quench your thirst for knowledge. It consists of a total of 80 books, National and International journals on various topics in Psychiatry.

Demonstration rooms

The demonstration rooms are well-equipped with audio-visual aids and infrastructure which give the best learning experience to students.
